The warm sun cast its light upon the icy village as a young woman playfully danced in the chilly breeze. Laughter filled the air as the village’s children joined in, mimicking her every move as the sparkling snowflakes danced around them. “Kiara, dear,” a gentle voice called out. Kiara turned to see her mother standing near their home, a warm smile on her face. “Come, the elders and I have something important to discuss with you.”

Hesitantly, Kiara followed her mother, the tribe’s shaman and current protector of her people, waving goodbye with a mix of excitement and apprehension. The tribe elders had gathered to bid Kiara farewell on a journey that every new protector of their tribe had to undertake, a rite of passage in becoming the next in the line.

Kiara felt full of tension walking into the tent. “Mother, I…”, she mumbled, her voice full of self-doubt as she felt the weight of her responsibilities. Her mother’s eyes glistened with emotion, “Kiara, I understand,” she said as she put her arm gently on Kiara’s shoulder, “Trust me, I know this struggle all too well. But this is your destiny, and I have faith in you. Just like I once did, you will find your way.”

Her mother gently picked up a beautifully crafted staff leaning next to a wooden stake in the tent. “The Wayfinder”, she said, gently touching it, “…has been passed down through our lineage, from mother to daughter. Now, it is yours.”

Kiara reached out to the staff, her hand wrapping around the hilt. She felt a surge of emotions as vague memories flashed through her mind. Overwhelmed, she embraced her mother.

Moments later, Kiara ventured outside, the Wayfinder clutched in her hand. With a mixture of uncertainty and resolve, she set off on a three-day-long journey in the wilderness alone. As she moved further away from the village, leaping between ice shards and trudging through thick layers of snow, her thoughts ran wild. Will she find shelter? Something to eat? Should she return? Suddenly, she heard screams and felt the earth tremble beneath her feet — coming from the direction of her village.

Panicked, her heart raced, and her feet trembled as she sprinted back toward her home, the cold biting at her skin as she pushed herself to her limits. As Kiara returned to the village’s edge, she froze in disbelief, standing right before a gaping cliff. Her entire village, her mother — all gone. The once bustling community was now an empty chasm with a lingering scent of decay.

Tears streamed down her cheeks, her body trembled, falling to her knees. In her heartache, Kiara remembered her mother’s words, “Just like I once did, you will find your way.” Kiara slowly tried to stand up, wiping off the tears. Her heart still torn, but determined, she wondered why she, of all people, was left behind. Was she chosen? Kiara never cared about destiny, she cared about protecting others, and now it was time to protect more than just her people; on her own path as the Tundra’s Chosen.

Using her inherited gift bestowed by her tribe, she shapes this vital resource into icy blasts capable of freezing and shattering any who threaten her home. As the daughter of the tribe’s shaman priestess and the latest protector of her tribe, Kiara shoulders the responsibility and tradition of being her people’s appointed protector.

When disaster struck Kiara’s tribe, and her village was consumed by an unknown force, she embarked on a journey to protect others from the same terrible fate. As a parting gift from her late mother, her magical staff, the ‘Wayfinder,’ now guides her through treacherous terrain as she delves into the dark secrets of the Shatterlands.

GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW

BASIC ATTACK: ARTIC BURST

Kiara’s basic attack, ‘Arctic Burst’, fires a barrage of deadly ice shards, making her a formidable force against single towers or groups of enemies.

SPECIAL ABILITY: TUNDRAL BLINK

With her special ability, ‘Tundral Blink’, Kiara teleports a short distance, evading attacks from towers and monsters. When landing ‘Tundral Blink’, she unleashes a blast of ice, dealing low damage to all enemy units nearby.

ULTIMATE ABILITY: FLASHFROST

Kiara’s ultimate is ‘Flashfrost‘. She immediately releases a powerful ice nova around her, dealing massive damage and freezing all units caught within range for a short amount of time.

TIPS & TRICKS

Kiara excels when outnumbered. ’Arctic Burst’ counters any smaller units easily, while ‘Tundral Blink’ helps Kiara enter and exit crowded battles swiftly, dealing damage before enemies can strike. And when things get really tough, her ultimate ‘Flashfrost‘, used offensively or defensively, can turn the tide of any battle.

To master Kiara, players should focus on maintaining their distance and using their abilities to control the battlefield. Positioning is key to make the most of her freezing powers, and proper timing of her abilities will allow Kiara to wreak havoc on her enemies while remaining elusive.
