Leon, The Pridemane’s Roar
The dark hooded figure descended into the depths of a cave in the outskirts of the Shatterlands, where the light of day slowly faded around him.
As he walked deeper into the cave, the man gazed at his surroundings, descending step by step into the unknown. Runic markings on the stone told stories of old, forgotten over the centuries. These ruins were of the Pridemane’s ancestors, far beyond the Kingdom’s reach, hidden in secrecy and unknown to all but the leader of the Pridemane clan.
Venturing further into a burial ground, the man stopped. A massive stone statue towered mere feet in front of him, holding what he was seeking — a mighty axe embedded with mysterious gems that faintly glowed in the dark. The man felt the power emanating from it as he walked closer. Without hesitation, he stretched out his hand and wrapped his fingers around the hilt.
Suddenly, out of the shadows, the man was knocked over with a swift swoop. Another slash tore open his skin, pushing him against the wall. The man gasped for breath as sharp claws burrowed into his skin and chest.
‘You followed me, traitor?’ Leon roared. ‘Do you think a mere spy can pass by me undetected? I’ve smelled your deceit from a mile away.’ As the man struggled to speak, Leon barked, ‘Enough of my time wasted. You’re not leaving here anyway,’ as he dragged the man through the air. ‘My father was full of pride, but you people exploited us for too long. I know the Kingdom has been spying on him for years.’ Holding the man up in the air, his feet now dangling over a large abyssal pit, Leon continued, ‘You thought I wouldn’t notice? And now you dare to take OUR weapon from us? You don’t even know what the Monolithean means to us Pridemanes.’ Slowly softening his grip, Leon said, ‘While I have to attend to important matters, you have some time to find out… of here.’
The man plummeted to the pit’s ground as Leon turned towards the statue and reached for the weapon. The moment his hand touched the axe, the gems began to glow, illuminating his hand and casting light across his face. Leon felt the energy pulsing through his veins as he yanked the weapon out of the statue’s grip with fierce determination.
His eyes flicked upwards towards the weapon’s head, and he smirked, as if he feared the Kingdom’s grasp, as if any of the Pridemanes did. They would not hide behind hypocrites or indulge behind the Kingdom’s walls. They were warriors, born to battle and protect the people of this land. Leon, their new leader, was the Pridemanes’ Roar.
THE FEROCITY OF THE LION
TENACITY UNEARTH
Welcome to the Pridemane’s domain, where danger lurks around every corner, and only the strongest and bravest can hope to survive. In the Kingdom, one name stands out among the rest: Leon, the Pridemane’s Roar.
Born and raised on the crescent island of Baohr, Leon is a natural-born leader with an unyielding character. As a half-human, half-lion chimera, this Pridemane possesses the tenacity of earth and utilizes it to jump into the fray with bludgeoning blows, ignoring even the most crippling injuries.
Growing up with the stories of his father, Lenn, who served as King’s right hand for years, Leon was inspired by his father’s ferocity and incentivized to hone his combat skills from a young age. However, as he grew older, Leon realized that his people, the Pridemanes, were viewed as barbaric savages, a necessary evil, and the king’s pets by the nobles of the Kingdom.
KINGDOM COME ROAR
Determined to lift the stigma cast over his people, Leon trained his body and mind tirelessly, hardening his skin and bones. When the news of his father’s demise on the fields of war spilled across the Kingdom, Leon donned his father’s legendary armour and became the leader of the Pridemanes, and the first line of defence for the Kingdom.
Now wielding his people’s ancestral axe, the Monolithean, a weapon of immense proportions made from rare stones and precious metals, Leon is an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. He leads his kin with the goal of protecting the people of the Kingdom without becoming the King’s puppet.
Join Leon on his journey as he roars into battle, his armor glinting with ferocity under the blinding sun of the Shatterlands, cutting and crushing his enemies into bits and pieces.
GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW
BASIC ATTACK: ROARING CLEAVE
Leon’s basic attack ‘Roaring Cleave’ sweeps in wide arcs in front of him, hitting multiple enemy units at once. His potential for constant AoE damage makes him perfect to take down groups of smaller enemies easily.
SPECIAL ABILITY: ONSLAUGHT
The Pridemane’s Roar’s special ability is called ‘Onslaught’. When used, Leon lunges forward in a straight path, and becomes immune to crowd control effects during the animation. Any monsters in his path are knocked back and stunned briefly.
‘Onslaught’ deals heavy damage on impact to towers. If ‘Onslaught’ manages to destroy a tower, Leon continues to charge in the same direction and gains a temporary stacking damage buff.
ULTIMATE ABILITY: EARTHBREAKER
‘Earthbreaker’ is Leon’s ultimate ability. Leon slams his weapon, the ‘Monolithean,’ into the ground to deal massive damage in a large area in front of him. Use the range of the ability to your advantage, and position yourself correctly to hit as many targets as possible.
TIPS & TRICKS
Leon is your best choice when facing multiple smaller enemies at once. He also excels at taking down towers. Position yourself and use ‘Earthquake Strike’ to hit as many enemies and towers from afar, then charge using ‘Onslaught’ to take down one tower after another.
Continue to destroy towers with his charge to stack up ‘Onslaught’s damage buff, but avoid strong single enemies for a smashing success.
