Many have rallied behind the idea of creating accessible multiplayer blockchain-backed games, but only a few can deliver it right. And we are one of the extraordinary ones. We believe that technology alone doesn’t change the status quo — people do — so, we’re excited to highlight some of the extraordinary people behind Fableborne.

Think of this post series as a living document that will continue to grow as our team gets bigger. As it is aimed at bringing you closer to our team.

Without further ado, let’s start with our Leadership team!

KAM PUNIA

Founder & CEO of Pixion Games

Kam Punia is a true industry veteran. With over 12 years in the gaming industry, Kam has seen all the ups and downs the industry has to offer. He gained his experience through years of leadership at Konami. Being part of the team that developed an esports academy and grassroots of a real-time multiplayer game Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournaments, Kam is the OG of multiplayer game makers.

He built his first game at the age of 14, an easy endless runner that he played together with his friends. They spent one summer competing to beat each other’s scores. At that exact moment, Kam was in awe of how a simple game with a socially competitive layer can bring people so much joy. This was the spark that ignites his motivation to eventually build Pixion Games.

Speaking further about his motivation, Kam said:

“Looking back, I always wanted to build games that had a competition at the core, bring people together and are accessible to the masses. We see how esports started to grow within the industry, but the need for short snackable sessions to fit around time-poor players’ lifestyles became a problem to solve. Pixion Games was formed with the aim of building and delivering these experiences.”

Kam is also part of the Gaming Advisory Board Member of ECOMI (VeVe Digital Collectibles), making him an early blockchain technology adopter.

TAMARA SLAVSKAYA

Director of Operation of Pixion Games

After leading Pixonic as the Head of Operations, Tamara joined forces as the Director of Operations to spearhead and make things happen at Pixion Games.

From years of experience in Pixonic, Tamara successfully helped this company scale the War Robots team, a real-time multiplayer game with millions of active players from around the globe as it is today. Tamara is one of the important figures behind the success of this title.

Tamara leads complex projects throughout all stages and does not shy away from environments filled with uncertainty and ambiguity. Her superpower is being the “sniper rifle” of the team, with the laser focus that she tends to aim when a situation needs to be handled in the most efficient way.

When asked about the motivation she joined Pixion Games, Tamara said:

“I joined Pixion because I was looking for an opportunity to build an amazing studio from a small seedling to a powerful tree. The thrill of being able to witness, lead and be a part of this transformation excites me to no end.

Most importantly, Pixion is a team I was looking for. We share goals, values and ambitions. In each and every interview when a candidate asks why I am confident in our success I always say it’s because I trust this team. We’ve got it all — experience, passion, growth mindset, agility, and of course, endless love for games.”

SEMËN SAMUSEV

Technical Director of Pixion Games

When it comes to technical matters, Sam is the expert on our team. With over 14 years of experience as a software engineer and development team leader, Sam has been involved in the creation of many mobile games titles for a wide range of clients.

Sam was formerly the Head of Server-side development at ZeptoLab, where he helped to scale and lead 11 async developer team who build the backend game server systems. He has helped operate real-time multiplayer server infrastructure serving millions of DAU for over 8 years.

As an accomplished computer scientist, Sam is currently leading Pixion backend development. Proficient in Solidity, Sam also oversees Blockchain integration and infrastructure development. He believes Blockchain is adding many value to our battle tested Fableborne. Not only increasing players gameplay experience but also enhances the current robust technology. A vision statement that represents our development direction.

When asked about the reason why he believes in Pixion vision, Sam said:

“There are countless reasons why I love being part of Pixion team and believed in our vision. One of them is because Pixion is built by a top-notch professional team. On the current market state, you have to move extremely fast, and this is much easier to do when you don’t need to doubt the decisions of team members and you can trust them completely. It works the other way around.”

THE TEAM BEHIND FABLEBORNE: ABOVE & BEYOND
