Nix, a young descendant of the governor’s bloodline, frolicked in the luminous coral gardens. Her days were filled with laughter and joy, surrounded by the beauty of her homeland.
Yet, the world was not to remain as it was. A cataclysmic event shook the very foundations of their underwater utopia, shattering the world and extinguishing the iridescent glow of Veil. Nix was but a child when the cataclysm struck, and in the chaos and devastation that ensued, she lost everything she held dear. Her family, the kingdom, and the life she had known were all swept away by the relentless tide of misfortune.
Alone and orphaned, Nix faced the harsh realities of the fractured world above the waves. She roamed from one struggling settlement to another, her nimble underwater agility allowing her to adapt quickly to the unfamiliar terrain. Survival became her sole purpose, as she honed her skills and learned to navigate the treacherous landscapes that had replaced her once-idyllic home.
As the years passed, Nix’s heart harboured a seething fire fuelled by the desire for revenge. She yearned to avenge her fallen family and the lost kingdom. This burning need drove her to make a life-altering decision — to become one of the Shatterlands Heroes. She was determined to stand against the encroaching Rot, to prevent others from experiencing the agony of loss that had defined her existence.
In her pursuit of this new path, Nix left behind her past, her memories, and her attachments. She carried with her only a small, smooth rock from her hometown’s seabed — a humble talisman that connected her to the memories of her lost kingdom.
Nix’s combat style echoed her aquatic heritage and her journey of self-discovery. Her speed and agility in the water, once bound by the deep-sea’s embrace, were now unleashed on land, granting her supernatural swiftness. Guided by the teachings of her ancestors, Nix had learned to harness the power within through meditation, allowing her to tap into hidden reservoirs of strength and agility. As a descendant of Veil, she wielded control over water, commanding its flow with mastery.
Nix found camaraderie and laughter with Leon, their shared experience as hybrids forging a strong connection. Nix’s basic attack, ‘Hydroslash,’ is a flurry of swift, consecutive melee slashes with her dual seabed daggers. It allows her to engage enemies in close combat efficiently.
SPECIAL ABILITY — KI DASH
Nix performs a rapid dash to a targeted location, leaving a trail of aquatic energy in her wake. Any enemies that Nix dashes through become momentarily stunned. This dash can be consecutively activated before triggering its cooldown, offering versatile repositioning options and a tactical advantage in combat.
ULTIMATE ABILITY — TIDAL PULL
Nix’s ultimate ability, ‘Tidal Pull,’ is a breathtaking display of power. She channels her lineage’s connection to water, performing a ground-shaking stomp. This unleashes a 360-degree area of effect (AoE), and all monsters within the AoE are drawn toward Nix and stunned. This ability provides a significant advantage when coordinating with other heroes, allowing for strategic swaps.
